Description

Victoria "Inverted A/V" 50 Cents 1872-H AU50 PCGS, Heaton mint, KM6. Inverted A/V variety. This famous issue exists due to a blundered legend, made using an upside down letter "A" punch in place of a "V" in the spelling of Victoria's name. Although the error was quickly corrected, some managed to leak into general circulation. All those that have survived are considered rare, and particularly those approaching uncirculated condition. Offered here in AU50, with steel-gray surfaces and touches of remaining luster between lightly rubbed devices over both sides. A fascinating variety that remains demanded at all levels.
