Description

Exciting First-year Specimen Issue

Victoria Specimen 10 Cents 1858 SP66 PCGS, Royal mint, KM3. Plain edge variety. Among the finest examples extant for this first-year issue, with a needle-sharp strike and deeply glossed reflectivity throughout that remains fully apparent beneath a sheath of glorious intermingled copper-gold, maroon, olive and blue-green patina. Closer inspection with a glass confirms the outstanding quality, and an interesting die crack that runs from the rim at 11 o'clock on the obverse, to Victoria's hair, confirms a later die state. The finest specimen of either edge variety that we have offered.
