Description

Newfoundland. Victoria gold 2 Dollars 1880 MS63 NGC, London mint, KM5, Fr-1. The lowest mintage date of this adored Newfoundland gold series featuring young Queen Victoria, veritably rare at the Choice Mint State designation. The selection sits alone atop the NGC Census in the present lofty assignment, and is the finest graded example Heritage has ever handled. This piece once resided in a PCGS holder of the same grade, since crossing to NGC. Queen Victoria's effigy is particularly impressive here, glitteringly frosty and relatively untainted by surface chatter. An important offering for Newfoundland collectors that may well reset the bar for premium specimens of this key date.
