Description

Newfoundland. Victoria copper Pattern Specimen Cent 1865, KM-Pn7, NF-7, Bowman-27, SP65 Brown PCGS. An attractive pattern issue of Queen Victoria that pairs the adopted design for the Nova Scotia and New Brunswick cents on the obverse with a reverse design that, besides minute variances in the wreath's leaves, nearly identically resembles the adopted design. Extremely rare as a type and certainly among the finest of the four or five that likely exist in private hands, with smooth brown surfaces that suggest a possible bronzing at the mint and attractive iridescent gold and rainbow colors that reveal themselves when turned beneath a light.
