Description

Edward VII gold Sovereign 1909-C MS62+ PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM14, S-3970. From a mintage of just 16,273 pieces, and not often offered in Mint State. Of those graded as MS, recent auction record is dominated by MS61 examples with very few rising above; accordingly, this MS62+ piece bordering on choice is highly unusual for its preservation. Richly colored a deep butter-gold, cartwheel luster spinning across both surfaces and backlighting the sharp strike. A charming Sovereign of scarcely-matched quality.
