Description
Ferdinand VI gold 8 Escudos 1751 So-J MS61 NGC, Santiago mint, KM3, Cal-824, Onza-644. A type rarely seen in higher tiers of preservation and generally to great interest. The piece at hand showcases attractive harvest-gold patina wholly enveloping crisply rendered devices displaying only a hint of weakness towards the center, a trait commonly associated with these milled gold issues of Santiago. For the sake of accuracy, we note hairlines witnessed across the fields as the likely hinderer of finer technical designations. From the GK Collection
