Description

Republic gold 8 Escudos 1836-IJ, KM93, AU55 ICG, an appealing example with abundant mint luster, struck over an earlier coin, perhaps KM84, with portions of the original coin's legends visible in the peripheries. We have not previously noted an overstrike for this series.
