Description
Republic Pattern Peso 1819 (Santiago), KM Pn-1, AU, previously listed as unique under Krause. Pattern by J.S. Portales, this item is of the greatest rarity, possibly only the third piece known to exist of the type. This peso design was rejected by the Chilean government who preferred to continue with the so-called "Volcano" Peso which already circulated in Chile. A gorgeous piece nonetheless with a beautiful, intricate design of the Andes. Similar piece in Millennia Collection, graded AU55 by NGC, brought $16,100 in May 2008.Auction Info
