Republic copper-nickel 10 Pound Token ND (1912-1920) AU55 PCGS, Heaton Mint. Centrally holed, plain edge. Issued by the S.I.C.S & R. Co. Ltd (Shanghai Ice Cold Storage & Refrigeration Company). Active from 1912-1956, the company coincided with the peak and fall of the commercial ice trade. This token was produced in Birmingham and would have been used by wealthy households to procure 10 pounds worth of ice to cool their home or food in the summer.
