Scarce Specimen Medallic "Pavilion" Dollar

Republic Hsu Shih-chang Specimen "Pavilion" Medallic Dollar Year 10 (1921) SP63 PCGS, L&M-956, Kann-676b, WS-0102. Reeded edge, without lower legend on reverse variety. Among the most attractive Republican-era Dollars this cataloger has handled, and the first Medallic "pavilion" issue we've seen since 2017. While those inclusive of the bottom legend are on offer with somewhat regularity, with multiple examples in this very auction, those lacking the bottom legend remain incredibly scarce. The painstakingly engraved devices remain exceedingly sharp, each minute branch and figural roof tile is fully rendered upon the polychromatic planchet beneath. Cerulean, terracotta, and emerald tones pervade the piece in its entirety while ample, clear luster points to an impressive level of preservation. Produced with an immensely curious purpose, the selection was likely to be distributed upon the opening of the Peking Union Medical College, whose façade adorns the reverse. Of those currently occupying the conditional censuses, only a single ranks finer, confirming this great rarity when located so pristine.

珍罕徐世昌像「仁壽同登」壹圓銀樣幣

民國十年（1921）徐世昌像「仁壽同登」壹圓銀樣幣。SP63 PCGS。
天津造幣廠。齒邊。背面下方沒有「紀念幣」字樣。這枚紀念幣可謂是民國錢幣中魅力數一數二的品種。敝司首次經手這款紀念幣已是2017年，是背面下方帶有「紀念幣」字樣的版本，在多次拍賣中均有亮相。然而，沒有「紀念幣」字樣的版本則稀罕少見得多。此例匠心獨運的圖文依然銳利清晰，幣坯斑斕多彩，樹椏和亭台瓦頂的一分一毫都精細無比。蔚藍、赤褐和翠綠的多彩包漿包覆整枚銀幣，飽滿銀白的光澤足以令人驚歎其出色的保存狀態。此幣的緣起甚具趣味，背面矚目的亭台應為北京協和醫學院，可能曾計劃於該校開幕時派發此幣。根據目前的記錄，僅有一例評分更佳，可見此幣屬何等珍品，藏家不容錯過。
