Practically Gem Mint State No Hat Li Yuan-hung Dollar

Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) MS64+ NGC, Wuchang mint, KM-Y321, L&M-45, Kann-639, WS-0090. Type without hat. Double-die obverse and reverse variety. A true conditional and aesthetic outlier for this type, of which we've handled quite frequently these last few sales. Relatively easy to come across in lower Mint State designations, yet when seen finer than MS64, even by a mere addition of the fully deserving "+" designation, becomes quite scarce. Watery resplendence abounds this early Republican-era piece, whose lustrous finish seemingly knows no bounds. A thoroughly handsome rendition and one best appreciated when viewed in hand. Accompanied by an old Samuel Hudson Chapman flip, erroneously assigning the sitter as Yuan Shih-kai.

武昌造幣厰。無戴帽版。正背面重打版。品相外觀具備，無容置疑的頂級珍品。敝司在最近數次拍賣均有幸經手此款式。未流通等級的例子中，以MS64分爲界，低分者頗爲常見，更高分者數量驟降，有+號評級的更是稀缺。民國初年發行，通幣散發水漾光芒，浮雕熠熠生輝，光華滿溢。造工無可挑剔，實物更是魅力無窮。附上Samuel Hudson Chapman的舊封套，誤標為袁世凱像。
