Star Quality Gem Li Yuan-hung Dollar
Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) MS65★ NGC, Wuchang
mint, KM-Y321, L&M-45, Kann-639. Double-die obverse and reverse
variety. Of exceptional quality for the type, featuring the first
provisional Vice President of the young republic. Wholly untoned
and laden with waves of satin resplendence, further punctuated by
resounding flash and die polish that lend to a fully deserved
"star" assignment, the piece at hand impresses from even afar. Upon
magnification, the doubling to both obverse and reverse designs is
obvious, and while the crossbar of the "H" in "THE" is fully
apparent, the crossbar of the "H" in "CHINA" is exceedingly faint
and hastily added. Regardless, the piece demands the attention of
the quality-conscious type collector of the Chinese series.Metal: Silver
