Republic Tsao Kun gold Specimen Pattern Dollar ND (1923) SP62 PCGS, Tientsin mint, KM-Pn67, L&M-1126, Kann-1572, Shih-A11-7, Hsu-28, WS-0083A, Wenchao-62 (rarity 3 stars). Civilian dress variety. A sublime gold issue requisitioned by the current President of the Republic of China, Tsao Kun, upon the promulgation of the new constitution by the Peking Senate in 1923. This proved one of the few acts Tsao Kun was able to accomplish during his short and storied reign, and was effectively ignored as Kun became the subject of the Beijing Coup the following year due to his involvement in a bribery scheme that secured his presidency. Rarely do we find ourselves the opportunity to handle a gold striking from one of Chinese numismatics' most coveted series, the Republic portrait Dollar, let alone in Specimen and on the verge of a nearly-deserving Choice assignment. Kun's portrait remains full in both its quality and the impact of its expression, a clear result of a lavish and careful strike. The reverse maintains a particularly attractive visual allure, laden with honeyed expanses and die polish that light ablaze at every rotation. A commendable example and one of just 21 currently certified that is sure to land in an advanced cabinet.

1923年曹錕像憲法成立紀念金樣幣。SP62 PCGS。
天津造幣廠。文曹。這枚堂皇璀璨的金幣由當時的中華民國總統曹錕下令發行，正值1923年北京國會通過新憲法之時。在曹錕短暫多桀的在位時間中，這枚金幣可謂少數他成功推行的政令之一，隨後曹錕便在翌年因賄選國會就任總統，於北京兵變中被推翻。此幣堪稱最為稀罕尊貴的中國錢幣之一，金幣的例子敝司少有經手，品相幾近精選品相更是可遇不可求。曹錕肖像不論外觀抑或表情都深刻清晰，顯然是得益於匠心獨運的鑄打工藝。背面的外觀尤其誘人，幣面呈蜜金色澤，模具拋光痕跡在轉動間併出耀目光芒。這枚出類拔萃的例子為評分記錄的二十一例之一，定必會被置入於頂尖的集藏中。
