Qing Dynasty. Taiping Rebellion Pattern (Mother Coin) Cash ND (1861-1864) Certified 88 by Gong Bo Grading, cf. Hartill-23.20 (for standard type). Large Characters. 26.8x1.4mm. 5.4gm. A curious emission and the first designated a "Mother" issue from this historic era. Clearly an outlier and staying true to the quality one expects from such a casting, with those meant for circulation falling prey to heavy use and corrosion, with the current offering having been pristinely preserved and showcasing bold, raised characters.
