Stunning Engraved Master 5 Cash

Qing Dynasty. Wen Zong (Xian Feng) Engraved Master 5 Cash ND (1854-1857) Certified 88 by Gong Bo Grading, Board of Works mint (New Branch), cf. Hartill-22.750 (for standard issue). 30.9x2.0mm. 10.0gm. An elusive Engraved Master from the Board of Works mint, and the first of this denomination we've yet seen. Everything one could expect from such a masterful emission, with laudably bold characters that rise in clear contrast against the low-lying fields and nary a visual imperfection of note. While a few small handful of Mother issues have come to market recently, they lack the characteristic clarity and general appearances of the Engraved issues, having been created earlier in the production process. An obvious target for the Cash specialist, especially from the reign of Wen Zong, where examples of any denomination rarely come to market.

寶源局。30.9x2.0毫米。10.0克。寶源局出品的一枚罕見雕母，此等稀世奇珍亦是首次現身於海瑞得拍賣場上。其雕工精湛，字口銳利分明，與平整的幣胚底板形成强烈對比，且不見瑕疵，集所有雕母之特點於一身。近期極少的雕母流入市場，鑒於年代久遠，清晰度和外觀難免稍有減退，但瑕不掩瑜。咸豐時期的錢幣極難覓得，因此這枚無疑錢幣藏家們的心頭愛。
