Classic Tael Rarity

Hupeh. Kuang-hsü "Small Characters" Tael Year 30 (1904) XF Details (Cleaned) PCGS, Wuchang mint, KM-Y128.2, L&M-180, Kann-933, WS-0878. Small characters variety. A short-lived issue, introduced as part of a projected coinage reform based on the traditional system of Chinese weights, rather than the relatively recently introduced decimalized Dollar system. Although encountered on the market relatively more frequently than the "large characters" variety, the present offering presents a tempting opportunity to acquire a visually appealing representative of this iconic type. The fields are pleasingly retoned, despite the conditional modifier, the obverse faces up with ashen devices. While areas of localized contact can be noted around the central characters, the overall eye-appeal is undeniable and we anticipate strong bidder enthusiasm thusly.

光緒三十年（1904）湖北省造大清銀幣壹兩「小字版」。XF Details (Cleaned) PCGS。
武昌造幣廠。小字版。此幣發行時間甚短，緣起於以中國傳統重量單位，而非近代十進制「圓」改革幣制的嘗試。雖然小字版在市場上比大字版稍為常見，但仍為經典雋永的珍品，外觀迷人不已，入手機會可遇不可求。此例雖帶有評級公司批注，但底板的新養包漿賞心悅目，正面圖文呈鐵灰色澤。雖然中央銘文的部分位置帶有觸痕，旦整體品相之佳仍毋庸置疑。敝司熱切期待此幣將引起熾熱雀躍的買家回響。
