Superb "Hsu Wu" Kiangnan Dollar

Kiangnan. Kuang-hsü Dollar CD 1898 AU53 NGC, Nanking mint, KM-Y145a.18, L&M-215, Kann-71. "Wu Hsu" reversed to appear as "Hsu Wu". A rare provincial issue that only appears at auction every few years, almost exclusively in lesser states of preservation, and accompanied by conditional qualifiers notably absent here. Quite enticing for the type, punctuated by an even, honest pattern of wear and a mottled charcoal tone. One of just six examples between both grading services to receive a straight grade and bested by just a single MS63. Sure to interest the advanced provincial collector.
