Description

Ex. Kann Kweichow Silver Cake

Kweichow. Kuang-hsü Dollar (Silver Cake) Year 16 (1890) MS61 PCGS, L&M-606 (this coin), Chang Foundation-97 (this coin), Kann-12 (this coin). An incredibly important yet seldom-known type, this being the cataloger's first instance of even seeing a "Dollar" silver cake of Kweichow outside of the ubiquitous "Auto" and "Bamboo" issues, relatively speaking. While quite crude and in-line with the quality one expects from some of the interior provinces with primitive milling technology, the offering exudes charm and an attractive neon blue tone endures, embellishing its Mint State preservation. This, coupled with an undeniably alluring pedigree, its status as the lone certified example, and its generally mysterious nature, will surely propel this rare "Chien Pao" to the cabinet of an early Chinese specialist.

MS61 PCGS。
