Republic gold Central Mint Bar of 5 Taels ND (1949-1951) MS60 PCGS, cf. L&M-1077. 70x30mm. 156.35gm. Stamped with a depiction of an ancient spade coin (the mark of the Central Mint) and the weight, fineness, and serial number CD 6600. An elusive issue, with most 5 Tael bars featuring the portrait of Sun Yat-sen and absent from the piece at hand, struck on a large harvest-gold ingot exhibiting wispy surfaces and an impressive level of embossment seen to the punched marks.
