1864 MI-225AB-4d Detroit Token, MS65
1864 C. Fitzsimons & Co., Detroit, MI, F-225AB-4d, R.10,
MS65 NGC. Charles Fitzsimons and John Simons ordered their C.
Fitzsimons & Co. Store Cards in copper. Again, this
copper-nickel specimen was struck by Stanton for a collector,
likely at the same time the dies were being used to strike the
copper tokens that he sold to Fitzsimons and Simons for use in
their grocery store. A splendid Gem, this copper-nickel token has
highly lustrous light tan surfaces with mildly reflective fields.
Both sides are pristine and free of blemishes.
