    A Rare Civil War Store Card

    (1861-65) TOKEN Arch Saloon Token, No. 10, O. Rudd, Fuld-250A-1b(fp) (formerly CT600B), R.8, MS62 NGC. Silvered brass. The sole token-issuing merchant of Montville, Connecticut. Ascribed to an unknown die sinker in Rhode Island. The reverse shows a bearded head facing left with stars above and REDEEMED below. The reverse is the same as the Patriotic reverse 134 in the new Guide Book of Civil War Tokens. Only six to 10 pieces believed known, per Fuld. NGC has certified three pieces in this grade, these being the finest of six examples seen at that service (6/17).
