Description
NGC 1834 Crosslet 4 XF 40. The Crosslet 4 variety is the undisputed key to the Classic half eagle series, and is, of course, many times rarer than its Plain 4 counterpart. The typical example is only VF or XF at best. The last Crosslet 4 we sold was in November of last year and was an atypically nice AU 50. This piece is a bit softly defined on the hair curls (in addition to showing wear), and there are numerous small abrasions sprinkled about on both sides, none of which are large enough to merit individual mention. A rare opportunity. Trends $2,650.
