Description
1834 Crosslet 4 XF 40 NGC. The Crosslet 4 variety is the undisputed key to the Classic half eagle series, and is, of course, many times rarer than its Plain 4 counterpart. The typical example is only VF or XF at best. This piece is a bit softly defined on the hair curls (in addition to showing wear). There are numerous small abrasions of no consequence sprinkled about on both sides, and one light scratch in the lower-left quadrant of the obverse. A rare opportunity.
