Description
Pleasing 1834 Classic Head Five Dollar
Crosslet 4, Choice XF
1834 $5 Crosslet 4 XF45 NGC. Second Head, Crosslet 4,
Breen-6503, McCloskey 5-D, R.4. The Crosslet 4 variety is
significantly scarcer than its Plain 4 counterpart. Lovely
orange-gold patina covers the majority of the surfaces, with hints
of green near the rims. Minor verdigris in the peripheral letters,
stars, and date is noted. The strike is bold, and there are no
distracting marks. An excellent representative of this short-lived
