Description
1834 Classic Five Dollar, MS63
Plain 4, HM-1, Well Struck
1834 $5 Plain 4, HM-1, R.3, MS63 PCGS. CAC. HM-1 is midway
in rarity among first-year Classic five dollar marriages.
Arc-shaped cracks pass from stars 4 through 6. The D in UNITED is
repunched. This handsome example displays luminous lemon-gold
surfaces with hints of pink-red toning on the high points. The
strike is complete, even on the vertical shield stripes and the
forehead curls. The flashy fields exhibit minor marks but none
merit discussion. Although obtainable in circulated grades, HM-1 is
challenging to locate in such quality.Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 11/2007), lot 1991.
