Description
Attractive 1834 No Motto, Plain 4 Half Eagle, MS62 NGC
1834 $5 Plain 4 MS62 NGC. Second Head, Breen-6502, McCloskey 2-A, R.2. A bright representative with extensive luster and no mentionable handling marks. The vertical shield lines and Liberty's forehead hair curls are not fully struck, as is characteristic of the type, but the stars, claws, and plumage are needle-sharp. The first year of the Classic Head type can be obtained with little difficulty in VF to XF condition, but Mint State survivors are elusive.(#8171)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# E2KE, PCGS# 8171, GSID# 8856)
