Impressive MS62 1834 Classic Five
Plain 4, Second Head
1834 $5 Plain 4 MS62 PCGS. Second Head, Breen-6502,
McCloskey 2-C, R.4. A scarcer variety with a triple punched 4 in
the date and a repunched D in 5 D. Both dies are seen more often in
other 1834 pairings, such as M. 2-A and M. 4-C. The heavy die break
through most of UNITED may account for the scarcity of M. 2-C. This
is an unabraded example with substantial luster and minor mint-made
strike-throughs near OF and star 12.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# E2KE, PCGS# 8171, GSID# 8856)
