Description

1835 Classic Head Half Eagle, MS61
Clashed Dies, Sharp Strike

1835 $5 MS61 PCGS. Breen-6504, McCloskey 1-A, R.2. The dies are heavily clashed at the centers on this state of the variety. When tilted carefully under a light, this piece yields tinges of reflectivity in the central recesses and the protected peripheral fields due to die polishing. Light handling marks in the fields and on the Liberty portrait define the grade but are not obtrusive. Strike sharpness is outstanding for the type.(Registry values: P1)
