Description

Pretty MS63 1835 Half Eagle

1835 $5 MS63 PCGS. First Head, Breen-6504, McCloskey 1-A, R.2. The 5 in the denomination is completely under the fletchings, and the leaf pair is distant from the bottom of the U in UNITED. On the obverse star 7 points to the forward half of the third curl atop the head. This is a wonderful early 19th century type coin in the Classic half eagle series, one that we think is much underrated. Pretty yellow-gold surfaces radiate much eye appeal, despite the minor ticks that prevent an even finer grade.(Registry values: P1)
