Description
1835 $5 XF45 ICG. First Head, Breen-6504, McCloskey 1-B, R.3. The 5 in the denomination is to the left of the arrow feathers, and the olive leaves are distant from the U in UNITED. Splendid orange-gold patina drapes the surfaces of this lovely representative. Myriad marks are typical for the grade, but none save for a shallow scratch on the reverse merit specific mention. Several stars and hair curls are soft, as usual. Clashmarks are visible on the obverse, with a prominent outline of the shield in Liberty's hair.
