Very Scarce McCloskey 6-E Variety

1836 $5 MS61 NGC. Second Head, Large Date, Breen-6509, McCloskey 6-E, R.4. This die pair is easily recognized by the prominent die crack between the numerals 8 and 3 in the date. The sharply struck devices of this impressive specimen show no wear, and the surfaces are pleasing honey-gold with touches of tan. A few handling marks on Liberty's face explain the grade. Census: 42 in 61, 90 finer (2/10).(Registry values: P1)
