Near-Mint 1837 Five Dollar
1837 $5 AU58 NGC. CAC. Large Date, Small 5, Breen-6511, McCloskey 1-A, R.4. The ST in STATES is lightly repunched. Luster fills the borders, eagle, hair, and headband. The strike is sharp, the fields are unblemished, and the curls exhibit only slight wear. The 1837 has the lowest mintage of any Philadelphia Classic five, and is scarce this close to Mint State.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25RZ, PCGS# 8175, GSID# 8866)
