1837 $5 AU58 NGC. Small Date, Breen-6513, McCloskey 3-C, R.4. Luster fills the borders and devices of this pleasing Borderline Uncirculated representative. Although it currently commands a meager premium, the 1837 is significantly scarcer than the 1834 through 1836 dates, and provides good value to the knowledgeable gold type collector.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25RZ, PCGS# 8175, GSID# 8866)
