1837 $5 AU58 NGC. Large Date, Small 5, Breen-6511, McCloskey 1-A, R.4. This variety is promptly identified by its double forehead curl. The present piece is an impressively unabraded half eagle that has a pleasing strike and extensive remaining luster.
