Elusive 1837 Half Eagle, MS61
1837 $5 MS61 NGC. Large Date, Large 5, Breen-6512, McCloskey 2-B, R.3. A common variety, although 1837 is hardly a common date among Classic Head half eagles. In fact, only 1834 and 1836 are true common date issues in the series. This bold and beautiful lemon-yellow piece has frosty luster and excellent eye appeal.
