Enticing 1838 Half Eagle, MS61
1838 $5 MS61 NGC. Small Arrows, Large 5, Breen-6515, McCloskey 2-B, R.2. The D in the denomination has its vertical bar entirely below the olive stem. This crisply struck yellow-gold example offers strongly lustrous surfaces with hints of green. Though wispy, scattered abrasions in the fields preclude a finer grade, the coin remains attractive with no trace of wear.
