1838 $5 XF40 NGC. Breen-6514, Large Arrows, Small 5, McCloskey 1-A, R.2. Glimpses of luster emerge from the plumage and stars. The wingtips, cheek, and hair have moderate wear. The final year of the short-lived Classic Head design for the Half Eagle, although the Quarter Eagle bore a similar motif through 1839.(#8176) (Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25S4, PCGS# 8176, GSID# 8868)
