Description
1838-D $5 --Obverse Rim Filed, Damaged--ANACS. AU Details, Net XF 40. An eye-catching, bright gold color with hints of maroon are seen on this piece, issued in the first year of operation by the Dahlonega, Georgia mint. Nearly full details are seen and though surface marks are evident, they are not severe in nature. Though this piece has been "Net Graded'' by ANACS, it retains much desirability as a legitimately scarce issue.
