Description
PCGS 1838-D XF 40. A moderately circulated example of this very scarce Classic five. The '38-D is a key issue and the first year of issue from this popular Southern mint. This is an original coin with attractive surfaces that show a thin outlining of charcoal gray around the devices, and the only marks are minor ones that would be expected from any gold coin in this grade. Trends $3350 (12/14).
