    Description

    Flashy Uncirculated 1835 Quarter Eagle

1835 $2 1/2 MS61 NGC. McCloskey-1, R.2. Wide AM in AMERICA, a useful attribution point to check for 1834 and 1835 examples of the series. A mildly prooflike piece with flashy fields and attractive preservation. Minor softness in the centers is usual and unimportant. The reduced tenor of the Classic Head Quarter Eagles and Half Eagles returned those denominations to circulation, but while lightly circulated pieces are available, strict Mint State examples are elusive. Census: 23 in 61, 46 finer (11/05).(Registry values: P1)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25FT, PCGS# 7693)

    Weight: 4.18 grams

    Metal: 89.92% Gold, 10.08% Copper
