    1836 Head of '37 Quarter Eagle MS63

    1836 $2 1/2 Block 8 MS63 PCGS. Head of 1837, Breen-6144, McCloskey-C, R.3. Satiny and quite well frosted with tinges of reddish patina that deepen the original yellow-gold surfaces. Normal weakness of strike can be seen in the curls that frame Liberty's portrait and into a few letters of the headband as well. The eagle fared much better in terms of strike. Population: 11 in 63, 10 finer (1/03).
