    Near-Mint 1836 'Head of 1835' Two and a Half

    1836 $2 1/2 Script 8 AU58 NGC. Head of 1835, Breen-6143, McCloskey-H, R.4 . The Script 8 obverse is also called Head of 1835. On the reverse of this variety, the AM is closely spaced and there is a berry on the branch. Lustrous, deep, mellow orange-gold surfaces display premium eye appeal and relatively few abrasions. Softly struck on the reverse left shield corner and the central hair on the obverse. A die crack connects star 6 to the curl.(Registry values: P1)
