    Nearly Mint State

    1836 $2 1/2 Script 8 AU58 NGC. Head of 1835, Breen-6143, McCloskey-D, R.2. A later die state with several faint reverse die cracks in addition to the usual obverse crack across the portrait. This near-Mint Classic gold coin has substantial luster. The reverse lacks consequential marks, and the obverse abrasions are faded aside from a thin mark near 3 o'clock.(Registry values: P1)
