    Description

    1836 $2 1/2 Script 8 MS61 NGC. Breen-6143, Head of 1835, McCloskey-D, R.2. The eagle's neck, wings, and claws are well struck, as are the obverse stars. The hair curls above the coronet are also bold. Only the very center of the coin, which includes the hair curl above the ear and the horizontal shield bars, exhibit minor softness of strike. A spindly die crack (as made) travels from star 6 through the L in LIBERTY. There are no heavy abrasions, and the luster is bright and ample.
