    Description

NGC 1836 MS 64. An outstanding condition rarity. Classic quarter eagles are almost invariably found in XF or lower condition and solid mint state examples are exceedingly difficult to locate. This piece has lovely mint luster that rolls around the surfaces uninterrupted by any but the most trivial surface marks. There is some softness of strike on the hair curls, as usual, but the details are much stronger on the reverse than normally found. A premium example and an important coin for the advanced gold specialist. Population: 5 in 64, none are finer.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25FU, PCGS# 7694)

    Weight: 4.18 grams
