    Description

    1836 MS 62 NGC. Head of 1835. The most common of the three varieties of the year, this is a lovely piece that shows fully lustrous surfaces. The central striking details are soft, as usual for the variety, but the peripheral devices, i.e., the stars and lettering, are fully brought up. Lightly abraded with no mentionable marks on either side. Advanced die state for the variety with a die crack crossing the entire obverse from the rim above star 6 and terminating near stars 12 and 13. Very scarce in mint condition.
