    Description

Beautiful Mint State 1836 Quarter Eagle

1836 $2 1/2 MS 62 PCGS. Head of 1834. An outstanding condition rarity. Classic quarter eagles are almost invariably found in XF or lower condition and solid Mint State examples are very difficult to locate. This piece has lovely mint luster that rolls around the surfaces uninterrupted by any but the most trivial surface marks. Both the strike on the hair curls and on the reverse are noticeably stronger than normally found. A premium example and an important coin for the advanced gold specialist.
