Description

Pleasing 1837 Quarter Eagle, Choice AU

1837 $2 1/2 AU55 NGC. McCloskey-B, R.2. Each vertical stripe of the shield has three distinct lines, and the lowest arrowhead touches the second A in AMERICA, identifying this variety. The stars and Liberty's hair are soft, as typically seen, but there are no noteworthy marks. Plenty of luster remains in the fields and enhances the eye appeal. An excellent type coin.
