    Description

1838-C $2 1/2 -- Ex-Jewelry -- PCGS Genuine. XF Detail. Variety 20. Only slight evidence of the ex-jewelry history is visible on the surfaces of this , although we note associated cleaning and a bit of granularity as a result. Pleasing greenish-gold color remains, as does sharp definition on the devices. A small indentation on the cheekbone is noted, one of the unusual characteristics of the 1838-C. As always, the mintmark is boldly repunched.
Ex: The Pevehouse & Davis Collections (ANR, 10/2004), lot 702.
