    About Uncirculated 1838-C Quarter Eagle

1838-C $2 1/2 AU 55 Cleaned. This is a relatively attractive, if somewhat subdued representative of this first-year C-mint quarter eagle. There are, however, no unduly bothersome abrasions and the light wear has not resulted in excessive loss of detail. One of only two quarter eagles to display the C mintmark on the obverse, the low mintage (7,880 pieces) 1838-C is also a conditionally scarce issue that is difficult to locate above the XF level.
